Al-Nour Party's Disasters
Published in Albawaba on 04 - 12 - 2015

I always differentiate between "The Salafist Call" and "Al-Nour Party". The first is permissible for everyone, and has a lot of positives more than the negatives, whereas the second is a political party, which can be criticized by any Egyptian; as it is always trying to seize power. Therefore, it is entitled for the governed people, regardless of their denominations and religions, to criticize the political party and its performance.
Our Prophet "peace be upon him" came to complement the perfect morals. Al-Nour Party lacks the most important humanitarian principles, which is "good manner". One day, a group of young Muslims and I met with Shiekh Ibrahim Ezzat (LET God have mercy on him) at Anas Ibn Malik mosque. He told us about the principles that contravene the "True
Islamic religion and are adopted by "Al-Tabligh wel-Daa'wa" Group (report and call) headed by him. The Shiekh warmly welcomed us and praised our commitment. Afterwards, he told us it is important one firstly finds out the way to God and then starts to move forward it.
"Let "Al-Tabligh wel-Daa'wa" Group initiate the task by returning youth to the mosques instead of cafes and cabarets and then begin the process of rectification".
I just want to show you how the preachers' manners were. The man didn't attack us, although we had severely criticized his group. He told us about the good morals adopted by his group. We learned from him that we all complete each other; he didn't flaunt himself, nor ride roughshod over anyone. He didn't change nor did his group.
Since couple of days, we (the Salafi preacher "Mohamed Al-Abaseeri and I) were hosted by "Al-Mehwar" TV, and were asked about November 28 incidents. Al-Abaseeri said that Al-Nour Party's stance is unclear since that day. The man didn't commit a crime; he just expressed his opinion in a very polite way. However, Nader Bakar, Al-Nour Party's official spokesman, made a call amid the program. I was then asked by the program presenter (Iman Al-Hosry) to question Bakar. My question was "Does the call for November 28 protests constitute a call for sedition or jihad?". Bakar answered "I do not care about your guests' question, Mrs Iman. What I care about is yours and your viewers' query".
The official spokesman of any party or entity should characterize with certain attributes including good manners, logic and appearance. Bakar lacks all of these characteristics. Additionally, part of his job is to correct the Party's members' mistakes. In other words, if one of the Party's members rode roughshod over a political public figure or a businessman, the official spokesman has to fix it, reconcile matters, and restore the party's image.
Apparently, it seems that Al-Nour Party walks on the path of Muslim Brotherhood. They prefer to choose people of allegiances not of qualifications. So, they chose Nader Bakar, the frivolous and impolite man. Such a matter reminds me with another incident took place in the worst year ever (the year of MB), when a satellite channel hosted Safwat Al-Hegazy's brother as an expert in economic affairs. He was speaking about the economic future of Egypt under the rule of MB. When I was provoked by his speech, I asked about him to find out that was working as a"Storekeeper" in an "air conditioner" maintenance company!
What Al-Nour Party did for Egyptians? What are the issues the Party and its representatives have raised that stuck in the Egyptians' minds?
1) "Breast-feeding the old": until state institutions, where men and women are mixed together, have "made fun" of Al-Nour Party's "Fatwas" (advisory opinions), and you have to breast –feed us in order to live with us at work like our mothers. Laughter, derision, and curses on the Nour Party and its representatives in the parliament continue.
2) "Wedlock of valediction": Al-Nour Party was severely cursed by all people for stirring "Wedlock of valediction". The image of Islam is highly distorted by Al-Nour through such approaches, which represent an abuse of religion and Islamic morals. Al-Nour Party provided the "bad example" of religion. "You are the worst entity that fights Islam and distorts its image in the eyes of the world. You pose a threat on Islam more than The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) does"...Other Fataws presented by Al-Nour are: "Wedlock of the young, who stands it" along with "Leave your wife and run" one.
If you face a gang wants to rape your wife, is it permissible for a "mufti" to issue such a "fatwa"? Prophet Mohamed "Peace Be Upon Him" said, when he was asked about whether to give a man the money he wanted to take, "don't give him your money", and when he was asked "what if he kills me", he replied "You will be in Heaven", "what if I kill him"- "you will be in Fire". This is for your money, what about "your wife"?!
"I swear I couldn't believe that such a fatwa was released by one of Al-Nour Party's representatives". Despite the fact that I don't want to believe such a "fatwa"; for it is irrational, misguided and contradicts the purpose of the Islamic Law "Sharia'a"- even if they quoted some of the evidence that they always misunderstood- is it the time for Al-Nour Party to think about what really could benefit Islam and Muslims? Is it the time for Al-Nour Party to start purging itself from such distortions, or will it emulate the example of MB, resist, and defy until it falls down? Days will uncover the performance and reality of Al-Nour Party. At that time, we will either support it or fall it down, God willing. "I don't want to speak about the moral scandals of some of its members because the newspapers and newspapers covered enough". Al-Nour Party only represents its members, not Islam. Islam is represented by billion seven hundred million Muslims all over the world.
