San Francisco's Dance Brigade, under the artistic direction of Krissy Keefer, brought a unique blend of political dance theatre, martial arts and taiko drumming to the feminist show CaveWomen: The Next Incarnation, performed at Al Falaki Theatre last Friday for the grand finale of the Culture Resource Spring Festival 2012. Bassam El-Zoghby was there with his camera. Since 1975, Artistic Director Krissy Keefer has refined a form of political dance theatre that combines bold political content, cutting-edge movement, and stunning visuals. CaveWomen: The Next Incarnation is a primal feast delivered with passion and biting wit. The CaveWomen series is Dance Brigade's antidote to war and the present state of affairs in the world -- an evocation of female power with a good dose of humour and black leather.
