Al-Hanager Arts Centre Cairo Opera Complex, Gezira Exhibition Grounds, Zamalek, Tel 02 2735 6861 Out at Sea, will be staged by renowned Polish theatre troupe Teatr TM (Theatre TM) written by Polish playwright Sławomir Mrożek The performance is brought to Cairo on the initiative of the Polish Embassy and will have free admission. Out at Sea will be accompanied by screening of Arabic and English translation, allowing the audience to fully enjoy the witty dialogues and a topic bordering on the absurd, a typical theatre recipe used by the playwright Mrożek. Directed by Tomasz Mędrzak, the one-act theatre play was written in 1961 and relies on four actors: Tomasz Mędrzak in the role of Big, Agnieszka Sitek as Medium, Tomasz Dedek as Little and Maciej Damięcki as Postman / Butler. The protagonists are three survivors, drifting on a raft in the middle of the sea. Deprived of food, they decide to eat one from among themselves. But which of them should it be? They decide to vote... The play is rich in funny dialogue, brilliant punches, and characteristic to Mrożek canny philosophy and elegant jokes (Friday 29 March, 8pm).
