The show is presented by DAAS students and graduates, and combines physical expression through circus and dance to a background of live music that includes wind instruments and percussions. Beginning 2 September, "Zambalek" will be performed every Friday at 7pm throughout the month of September. The show is for both children and adults, taking audiences on a journey filled with laughter and joy with surprises that leave them breathless and beats that get them to dance. The segments comprising the show are changeable and every performance is a new showcase of DAAS student's talents and skills.

The troupe is comprised of some of the few remaining Egyptian and Sudanese Zar performers (some of them are members of Rango band), playing the tanbura, the toza ( small 2 sides percussion) the mangour, a wide belt of goat hooves worn around the hips), the marakesh (hand-held rattles) and the tambourine.

Visitors can also tour the area's landmarks, including Al-Mansour Qalawun Complex, the mosque and the school of the Mameluke Sultan Al-Zaher Barquq.

Sat 3, 8.30pm: Singer Tania Saleh(Lebanon). Sun 4, 8pm: Palestinian folklore band. Mon 5, 8.30pm: A concert features the four-member Santoor Instrumental Music group led by Bipul Kumar Ray. Santoor is a hundred-stringed instrument from India. This instrument is so melodious and popular in Indian classical instrument music. Ray is one of the finest Santoor exponents of India and he will lead the group with the Santoor. Accompanying him on the tabla is Indranil Mukherjee, on the Mridangam, Manohar Balatchandirane and on the Swarmandal, Avinash Kumar. The artists will be presenting a meditative and soulful performance and will allow the audience to experience the purity and beauty of Indian Classical Music.
