Egypt's squash champions Mohamed Al-Shorbagi and Raneem Al-Welili captured the JP Morgan Tournament of Champions World Series titles at Grand Central Terminal in New York World No 1, Al-Shorbagi, won the men's JP Morgan Tournament of Champions title after beating England's world No 4 Nick Matthew 5-11, 11-9, 11-8, 12-10 in 83 minutes. He claimed his fourth major PSA World Series title. En route to the final, Al-Shorbagi defeated Amr Shabana 9-11, 11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 11-7 in the semifinal. For his part Matthew beat Colombian Miguel Angel Rodriguez 11-7, 11-9, 11-5. In the quarterfinal, Al-Shorbagi beat Borja Golan 11-7, 11-9, 11-8 and Matthew beat German Simon Rosner 10-12, 11-4, 11-7, 11-6. Rodriguez beat French Gregory Gaultier 11-13, 14-12, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9. Al-Shorbagi also, defeated Nicolas Mueller 11-3, 5-11, 15-13, 11-6 in the second round. He beat American Todd Harriti 11-6, 11-7, 11-8 in the first round. World No 2 Al-Welili became the first Egyptian winner of the Women's JP Morgan Tournament of Champions title. She defeated England's World No 5 Alison Waters in the final of the WSA International 100 squash event at Grand Central Terminal in New York. She beat Walters 9-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-4 in 48 minutes. In the semifinal, Al-Welili defeated England's World No 3 Laura Massaro 11-7, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6. While, Waters beat Egypt's World No 4 Nour Al-Sherbini 8-11, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9, 13-11. In the quarterfinal, Al-Welili beat American Amanda Sobhi 11-5, 11-5, 2-11, 11-4, Waters won over Malaysian World No 1 Nicol David 11-9, 10-12, 11-7, 11-1. In round one, Al-Welili defeated her fellow Egyptian Omneya Abdel-Qawi 11-7,15-13, 11-7, and Walter beat Mexican Samantha Teran 6-11, 11-6,11-3, 11-5.
