Mohamed Salah played his best ever game for Basel as he put the Swiss club one leg up in the group stages of the Champions League. The young Egyptian magician single handedly guided his team to a 4-2 win over Bulgarian side Ludogorets in Bulgaria. The mercurial Salah opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a magnificent half volley from inside the box after a long ball put him through on goal. The finish wasn't easy by any means but Salah made it look easy and sweet to the eye. After the goals Basel seemed to play with complacency which resulted in conceding two goals, the first in the 29th minute and the second in the 50th minute. However, Salah came to the rescue as he scored the equaliser in the 59th in similar fashion to his first goal but this time he put the ball underneath the rushing goalkeeper with a sublime touch. The most impressive part of Salah's marvelous performance is that he refused to celebrate both his goals because of what's happening back home in Egypt. The country is passing through tough times with many civilians dying every day defending their beliefs whether right or wrong. As a sign of solidarity Salah refused to celebrate any of his two goals. The truly magnificent little kid on and off the pitch vowed to stop celebrating scoring goals until the bloodshed in Egypt stops. Salah's role in the game wasn't over when he scored the equaliser as he won his side a penalty in the 85th minute twenty minutes after Basel scored their third goal. Salah went through on goal and was set to seal his man of the match performance with a deserved hat-trick but was fouled by the defender who saw a red card as a result. Salah wanted to take the spot kick himself but Murat Yakin opted for the usual penalty taker Schar who scored. Salah was replaced four minutes later to a standing ovation from the travelling fans. The other Egyptian star Al-Nenni had a very good game as well as he broke the play for the opponents over and over again during the game and bossed the midfield in admirable fashion. Turning to the Swiss league the all-Egyptian clash between Salah and Al-Nenni against the newcomer Kahraba ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw as Basel continued their disappointing start to the league campaign. Basel took the lead in the 31st minute and controlled the game from that moment until the introduction of Luzern's new number 10 Kahraba who played a very good 20 minutes and added energy and creativity to his team. Kahraba nearly scored on his debut as Basel's goalkeeper twice denied the Egyptian newcomer until Luzern managed to equalise with the last kick of the game after Basel failed to deal with a corner. Salah started the game and was replaced in the 82nd minute but wasn't his usual self in this game while Al-Nenni came on in the 58th minute to add stability to the tired midfield which he did brilliantly. Basel now sit in fourth place with nine points from six games while Luzern are in third with 11 points from six games. Ahmed Hassan Kouka is off the mark in Rio Ave's second game of the season as he scored from the penalty kick in his side's 2-0 win over Vitoria Setubal. Kouka and Rio Ave played a very good game once again as they added another three points after winning the first game against Belenenses 3-0. Kouka was unlucky in front of goal for the second game running as the keeper denied him three times with three excellent saves but he wasn't to be denied from 12 yards as he coolly slotted home his side's second goal of the game to ensure his team left the game with all three points. Six points out of six and five scored goals without conceding once puts Rio Ave in second place of the Portuguese league after two weeks with Sporting Lisbon on top on goal difference. Ahmed Al-Mohamadi and Hull City registered their first win of the season at the second time of asking as they defeated Norwich with a single goal that Al-Mohamadi played a big role in its build up. A magnificent cross from the evergreen Al-Mohamadi from the right hand side to Sagbo meant the defender had no other option other than to bring the certain-to-score Sagbo to the ground. The referee pointed to the spot kick and Brady converted to score Hull City's first goal of the season but certainly not the last. However, Hull had to do it the hard way as Sagbo turned from hero to villain as he got himself sent off after head butting an opponent as early as the 27th minute. However, Hull City players showed the fighting spirit they'll need to retain their place in the premier league, defended with aplomb and didn't give Norwich any chance to leave with a point. After a brilliant performance against Chelsea in the first game, Al-Mohamadi once again showed why Steve Bruce fought for sealing a permanent deal for the flying winger with an amazing performance that saw him send 11 crosses inside the box with seven of them reaching teammates. Hull City now are in 13th place with one win and one defeat. Still in England, Adam Al-Abd's Brighton continued their recovery from the terrible start in the league as they defeated Burnley 2-0 at home to record their second straight win after starting their campaign with two defeats. Unfortunately, Al-Abd continued to watch his team from the bench as his fellow defenders are playing well at the moment. Brighton moved to the 10th place after that win. The biggest surprise of the weekend came in the Belgian league as Lierse finally managed to win a game this season. Hossam Ghali and Ahmed Samir Farag played a starring role as Lierse defeated Waasland Beveren 1-0 at home to register their much needed first win of the season. Ghali was an inspiration in the middle of the park as he played with confidence and showed some incredible skills throughout the game in addition to some delightful key passes that went begging. On the other hand, Farag was as good on the left hand side and nearly scored with a belter but the keeper denied him with a brilliant save. The win meant Lierse left the drop zone and moved up to 11th place out of 16 teams. Arab and African: Former Moroccan star Marwan El Chamakh opened his account for his new team Crystal Palace as he scored in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke City away from home. Senegalese striker Mama Diouf scored the second goal for Hannover which proved to be the winner as they defeated Schalke 2-1 at home. Mali Striker Mostafa Yatabare notched a brace for Guingamp as they defeated Lorient 2-0. Ivorian superstar Salomon Kalou scored the only goal of the game from the spot kick as Lille defeated Saint Etienne at home.
