Manchester United fans call for Moyes' resignation Man United fans take to the club's Facebook page after their disappointing 3-0 home loss to bitter rivals Liverpool
After the 3-0 loss to Liverpool in the 30th matchday of the English Premier League on Sunday, Manchester United fans shared their disappointment on the club's official Facebook page and called for the sacking of the team's coach, David Moyes. The English Premier League title holders have suffered from a string of poor performances this season that have dropped them to 7th place in the teams' table with 48 points, 18 points behind leaders Chelsea. United's loss on Sunday – their ninth this season, five of which have come at home – brings to mind their 4-1 humiliation at Manchester City in September which now seems to have foreshadowed the club's current struggles. It has only been 10 months since former manager Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down after overseeing the club's 20th league title triumph. Current manager Moyes has admitted that the pace of United's decline has taken him by surprise, which hasn't calmed the club's supporters, who are calling for his dismissal. "I wish Moyes had been on the missing Malaysian airplane," a Man United supporter, Alfred Lagat, wrote on the club's Facebook page. Another supporter, Tahiru Jalloh, wrote that "the best news to hear at the moment would be: United sacks Moyes." Others shared fabricated photos of Moyes, one of which showed the ailing manager offering away his side's three points.## Another photo depicted former United boss Ferguson saying, "What the hell was I thinking when I appointed Moyes?"## BBC sport reporter John Bennet joined in on Monday, too, writing on Twitter: "fascinating debate about Moyes & MUFC on @bbc5live just now. All the fans on the show wanted him out but none could suggest a replacement." For his part, Moyes conceded after the 3-0 loss to Liverpool that the job as manager has been harder than he ever could have imagined. "The job was always going to be hard," Moyes said. "Is it harder than I thought it would be? Yeah, I would say so. "We have to play better and make ourselves harder to beat, harder to play against, and we are also going to have to make sure we are creating and taking more opportunities."
