Hodoud continue Egyptian league recovery after poor start Haras El-Hodoud secure second successive win, Masry defeat Ismaily in the sixth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League
Haras El-Hodoud built on their 2-0 walkover win over Zamalek – who were declared losers after their hardcore fans defied a crowd ban during both sides' clash – to claim another victory, edging out Ittihad El-Shorta 1-0 on Wednesday. Midfielder Ahmed Sabry scored the winner from the spot on 39 minutes to lift Hodoud to sixth place of Group B. Mamadou Keita bagged a brace to steer newcomers Ragaa to a 2-0 away win over Gouna, with the Malian midfielder scoring either side of the interval. Masry bounced back from their 2-0 defeat by Ismaily last week to beat Talae El-Geish with the same scoreline, courtesy of goals from striker Ehab El-Masry and Mahmoud Shaker on 45 and 58 minutes respectively. The only match that ended in a draw was Wadi Degla's 1-1 stalemate with Qanah, as Ghanaian striker Dodji's 32nd minute effort was cancelled out by Degla's Ahmed Salama in the second half.
