Egypt's Giza district of Kerdasa saw a tense calm Saturday as security forces continue to surround and comb the area following a police and army security operation targeting suspects in the deadly attack on Kerdasa police station last month. On the first day of the school year, schools in Kerdasa have not yet opened for security reasons. However, many residents have resumed their daily activities, according to Al-Ahram Arabic news website. Egypt's security troops stormed Kerdasa Thursday to arrest people accused of attacking and torching its police station with rocket propelled grenades, killing 11 security officers following the violent dispersal of pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo and Giza 14 August.
