My transfer to Roma isn't a step back in my career, says Gervinho Roma's new signing Gervinho believes that he made right choice in leaving Arsenal for Serie A side Roma
Roma's Ivorian midfielder Gervinho is convinced that his move to Roma isn't a step back in his career. The 26-year -old completed a move to Roma from Arsenal, earlier this month for 8 million euros, after spending two seasons with the Gunners. "I have left a great club in Arsenal, but this isn't a step back in my career. This team is strong and I hope to do well and win something with Roma," Gervinho was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Wednesday. "I was very happy to play for Arsenal, I played there for two seasons, but there were highs and lows. Maybe I could have done better, but after two years I wanted a change." The international forward, who suffered a lack of playing time during the last season at Arsenal, is looking forward to playing regularly again under Rudi Garcia, a manager he knows well from their time together at Lille. "With Garcia I can play more and have more confidence. I am sure I have the qualities to do well here."
