A fire erupted at the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) headquarters in Cairo Monday afternoon at around 5:20 pm. Its tenth floor has reportedly been badly damaged by fire. The cause of the fire is so far unknown. Ten firefighting vehicles have been mobilised to the headquarters, located in the eastern Cairo district of Nasr City. The ACA is the main watchdog of the Egyptian government, responsible for overseeing government corruption and performance, and the building is thought to contain critical documents related to major corruption cases. More details to follow.
