Senegal's striker Demba Ba is doubtful for the Newcastle's v Liverpool clash next week due to injury, the Premier League club coach Alan Pardew announced late on Monday. The 27-year-old attacker picked up a shin injury during Sunday's 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion; the match that saw him scoring his seventh goal in nine games within the 35th minute of his opener. The former West Ham player is due to undergo scans this week to determine if he will be available for the Magpies trip to Liverpool on Sunday. "Demba appears to have a bit of a nerve problem," Pardew was quoted as saying by Skysports. "It is not a major concern and I don't think it is an ongoing problem, but the major question is whether he can make next week," he added. Ba has delivered outstanding performances with Newcastle since joining them in the summer of 2011, but he has been out of favour sometimes since Papiss Cisse arrived in January.
