BREAKING: Egypt's Karam Gaber wins silver medal in Olympic Wrestling The Egyptian wrestler becomes the greatest Egyptian Olympian taking a silver in London 2012 and a gold in Athens 2004
Egyptian wrestler Karam Gaber has won the silver medal in the Greco-Roman event (84kg), after losing to Russia's Alan Khugaev on Monday. Khugaev, 23, won the two periods 3-0 against Gaber, who didn't seem on top form in the grand final. The 32-year-old Egyptian wrestler gave a stunning performance earlier in the Games, coming from an almost two-year break to beat Croatia's Nenad Zugaj then France's Noumonvi Melonin, before beating favourite Damian Janikowski of Poland in the semi-final. Gaber, world wrestler of the year in 2004, becomes the first Egyptian wrestler to win two Olympic medals, after his gold in Athens eight years ago. He gives Egypt its second medal of the London Games, after fencer Alaaeldin Abouelkassem's silver medal.
