Menezes to keep Olympic squad for Sweden friendly Coach Mano Menezes says Brazil will play the Aug. 15 friendly against Sweden with the players who are participating in the London Olympics
Menezes says he will add Chelsea defender David Luiz, his teammate Ramires and Corinthians midfielder Paulinho to the Olympic squad. The only absence for the friendly in Stockholm will be Real Madrid left back Marcelo, who was sent off in Brazil's last friendly. The squad was announced Monday to fulfill FIFA requirements. Menezes said players in the friendly "are part of a group being put together with eyes on the Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup." Brazil has a young generation of players who are in the Olympics but will also likely be in the World Cup at home in two years.
