Nour El-Sherbini is an Egyptian squash player who was born on 1 November, 1995 in Alexandria. El-Sherbini put her own mark in the squash history early in 2009 when she became the sport's youngest ever world champion at the age of just 13 after winning the women's title in the World Junior (U-19) Squash Championships. The 2009 young WISPA Squash player of the year, Nour also proved her worth when she was crowned with the British Junior Open Under-13 title the same year. In May 19, 2012, El-Sherbini defeated compatriot Raneem El-Weleily in the British Open semifinal on Saturday, becoming the first-ever Egyptian finalist in the prestigious world-wide squash competition. El-Sherbini is the youngest-ever female player to reach the top squash tournament's semifinal and is a strong competitor for the title of the oldest and most established tournament in the game of squash.
