Despite claiming the upper hand in the first half (15-14), the Egyptians failed to dominate the game after the halftime; losing to the Danes, who recently won the 2021 World Championship title. Egypt are now second in Group B teams' ranking with two points, two points behind leaders Denmark, who had defeated Japan 47-30 in the first matchday. The Pharaohs opened their Olympic campaign by beating Portugal 37-31 in the first of group B games last week. Egypt are bidding to march on in the prestigious tournament by achieving a positive result when they face Japan in the third round on Wednesday.
