Ahly's Fathy doubtful for Coffee clash Ahmed Fathy limps off with knee injury during Haras El-Hodoud friendly, doubtful for Sunday's African Champions League tie with Ethiopian Coffee
Ahly's veteran right winger Ahmed Fathy may miss Sunday's match against Ethiopian Coffee in the second-leg of their round of 32 tie in the CAF Champions League. The 27-year-old left the pitch during Monday's friendly with Haras El-Hodoud at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh stadium after sustaining a knee injury during the first half. Under the watchful gaze of Egyptian national team assistant coach, Dia'a El-Sayed, the match finished 2-0 with striker Emad Meteb and midfielder Mohamed Barakat scored the two goals. Islam Mostafa replaced Fathy. Ahly medical staff told Ahram Online that Fathy will undergo medical examinations and scans to determine the seriousness of his injury. Portuguese manager Manuel Jose has warned his players to take the Ethiopians seriously after the teams drew 0-0 in Addis Ababa.
