Egyptian People's Assembly holds its second session, with the martyrs and injured of the revolution on the agenda. Essam Sultan, leading member of Al-Wasat Party, opens the session by condemning the attack last night on the tomb of Nabi-Youssef in Nablus, WestBank,calling for action from the Egyptian government. The parliamentary speaker began by confirming that the session will go further to find ways to preserve the rights of the martyrs, the injured and their families in terms of compensation and their rights for treatment. A fact finding committee was demanded by a number of members of parliament to investigate the killing of protesters. The parliament held its first session on 23 January with MPs taking their parliamentary oaths, and Mohamed Saad-El Katatni was elected parliamentary speaker. Salafist Nour Party representative Ashraf Thabet and liberal Wafd representative Abdel-Alim Daoud were elected as the deputy speakers.
