We missed a bigger win against Masry: Ahly boss Carteron
Published in Ahram Online on 08 - 08 - 2018

Ahly coach Patrice Carteron is satisfied with his team's performance in Tuesday's first domestic league win over Masry despite missing many chances at the goal.
Thanks to goals from Salif Coulibaly and Walid Azaro, the defending champions secured a 2-0 win over stiff rivals Masry — their first league victory this season under new boss Carteron.
"We delivered a good game. We could win with a bigger score if we made the best use of chances against the goal," Carteron said in the press conference after the match.
"Our performance retreated in the second half, but finally we got what we wanted from the match," he added.
Ahly are currently joint leaders with Cairo rivals Zamalek and Dakhleya on four points. Masry are eighth on three points from two games.
Carteron also stressed that the door is open for all his players to appear in match line ups, assuring that Ahly will be a stiff opponent for other teams this season.
"The squad includes 30 players and everyone has a role according to every match. I always want every player to be ready for the matches as we play in many competitions. I will use all the players," the 48-year old tactician added.
"I follow the Egyptian league and I know how strong it is. Ahly can compete strongly this season," he concluded.
Ahly will play against rivals Wadi Degla in their next league match Tuesday.
