Mozart's last opera, The Magic Flute, will be performed in the colloquial Egyptian dialect for the first time at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Great Hall from 12 to 15 January Emanuel Schikanaeder's original libretto to Mozart's Magic Flute will be adapted into the colloquial Egyptian dialect by Sarah Enany and Neveen Allouba. The opera will includea number of professional singers from Cairo as well as guest artists from theUSA. Other singers will be young Alexandrian artists trained at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Art Center in addition to several members of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Choir. The opera is directed by Mohamed Abou El Kheir with theBibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Sherif Mohie-Eldin. The Egyptian Magic Flute is a joint production between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Fabrica Organization for the promotion of contemporary Egyptian Theater.
