Barcelona's one holiday wish? Keep Guardiola
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell's only holiday wish is for coach Pep Guardiola to finally sign a contract extension
Published in Ahram Online on 22 - 12 - 2011

Rosell said Thursday he hopes Guardiola commits to a new deal with the Catalan coach's current contract coming to a close at the end of the season.
“He knows he can do what he wants, the decision is his to take,” Rosell said according to Europa Press agency. “We will do all we can to make sure he can't say no.”
The 40-year-old Guardiola has spearheaded the Catalan club's most successful period by winning 13 of a possible 15 trophies since taking charge in 2008, including two Champions League triumphs and three straight Spanish leagues titles.
“But there isn't any panic because this club comes before any person,” Rosell said. “The day that he decides to go or that (Lionel) Messi hangs up his boots—a day which I hope doesn't come for many years—there will be concerns but not any panic or fear.”
Guardiola also urged fans not to panic over his situation on Wednesday.
“People need to be calm. I know what I'm doing,” Guardiola said. “I know when I have to do it and how it needs to be done.”
Rosell also didn't rule out a move to sign Brazil striker Neymar at some point, but said “that issue is on standby.”
“That theme is not up for discussion (now),” he said.
