Morocco local-based national team coach Jamal Salami praised the "shining performance" of Ahly striker Walid Azaro, saying his compatriot has more to achieve in his career and deserves to wear the jersey of the European top flights. "Walid is a brilliant player and he can join one of the big European teams, I can liken him with Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, he is a strong and talented player," Salami told a radio station on Thursday. "Azaro will shine with Ahly in the coming period after he adapts to the team and the Egyptian atmosphere," he said. Azaro has expressed his hopes a convincing performance with the Cairo Giants will eventually result in a call-up by his country for the 2018 World Cup. The Moroccan striker, who joined Ahly last summer from Morocco's Difaa El-Jadida, initially struggled to meet fans' expectations by missing easy chances to score. However, Azaro has recently won over the club's fans by scoring 11 goals in the Egyptian League in 21 games, becoming the team's top scorer.
