Cairo Opera Orchestra celebrates Franz Liszt bicentennial On Thursday 24 November, Cairo Opera Orchestra conducted by Nayer Nagui will perform works by Franz Liszt
To comemorate the great Hungarian composer Franz Liszt (1811 - 1886), the Cairo Opera House will next week host a concert on the occasion of bicentenary of his birth. The programme will include: - Les Preludes, Symphonic Poem - Piano Concerto No.2 in A major S.125 - Hungaria, Symphonic Poem - Mephisto Valse - Faust Symphony final for Tenor solo, male Choir & Orchestra - with tenor Hisham El-Guindy and Acappella Choir (Choir Master: Maya Gveneria). Cairo Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Nayer Nagui The evening's soloist is the young Hungarian pianist János Balázs. Balázs is considered one of the most talented Hungarian pianists of his generation. At the age of 16 he took First Prize of the International Liszt Competition in Pécs, Hungary. In the following years he won four more international music competitions and performed in Budapest, Paris, Rome, London, Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Bucarest and Vienna.
