AFCA's activities operate through workshops, courses, festivals and long and short-term artistic activities especially tailored for children. AFCA organises a series of art clubs throughout the year. This year, the summer club was launched on 15 May and lasted 15 weeks. The summer club ended with a big show performed by the children, exhibiting the work achieved by the children and their tutors. The children had the opportunity to express themselves through the performing arts of acting, dancing and singing in French, English and Arabic. The performance is based on The Animals' Conference, a novel for children written by Erich Kästner during the Second World War. It expresses political ideas, presented by animal characters in a way that can be easily understood by children. The performance will take place on Wednesday 24 August at 8.30 pm El Genaina Theatre, Al Azhar Park, Salah Salem Road, Cairo
