Egypt, the world's largest wheat importer, has bought 240,000 tonnes of Russian and Romania wheat for 1-10 October shipment on a free on board basis, the main government wheat buyer said on Thursday. Nomani Nomani, vice chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), gave the following breakdown of the purchases: -- 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Cargill at US$272.90 per tonne -- 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Aston at $277.49 per tonne -- 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at $278 per tonne -- 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Bunge at $277.50 per tonne
