Ian pls/ Zamalek's chairman denies magic claims, assaults sacked coach Mido Mansour harshly insulted Mido after his recent claims about using magic at Zamalek
Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has vented his anger on the club's former coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam, insisting that his recent claims about using magic to achieve better results last season are totally false. Late on Friday, Zamalek's sacked coach Mido said Mansour relied on imposters pretending to be sorcerers to improve results last season, saying the chairman was interfering in his work. "Mido's claims are totally false. Did we win the league last season by magic? Did we also win Egypt Cup and Africa's handball cup titles by magic? He must prove what he said with evidences," Mansour said in a video published by the club's official website early on Saturday. "Mido insulted Zamalek and fans with these declarations and I won't stand silent against this behavior," added Mansour who harshly insulted the former Ajax, As Roma and Tottenham star in the Video. The 33-year old Mido was shown the door following Tuesday's 2-0 Cairo derby loss to Ahly which left Zamalek seven points adrift of their bitter rivals at the top of the Egyptian Premier League table. The outspoken Mansour is no stranger to controversy, having said more than once that Zamalek were suffering from “black magic” used by opponents. He insisted he was serious. Zamalek, boosted by the arrival of some marquee signings, claimed the domestic double last season but their performances have been stuttering this term. They drew once and lost twice in seven matches under Mido, who was the team's third coach of the season after Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira and Brazilian Marcos Paqueta. Former Zamalek player Mohamed Salah took charge of Zamalek on an interim basis and will lead them when they face Wadi Degla on Sunday.
