No injury scare for Ahly's Evouna after Cairo derby win

Egyptian Premier League leaders Ahly played down concerns over the fitness of striker Malick Evouna after he was replaced in the second half of their 2-0 Cairo derby win over Zamalek on Tuesday.
The Gabonese striker, who joined Ahly for a record Egyptian transfer fee of $2.5 million in the summer, broke the deadlock on 56 minutes in superb fashion to break down Zamalek's defence.
He stole possession just before the halfway line, charged towards the area unopposed, turned central defender Ali Gabr inside out and sent a curling shot beyond the despairing dive of keeper Ahmed El-Shennawi.
Evouna was replaced in the 75th minute after seemingly sustaining a knock, making way for substitute Amr Gamal who wrapped up the win with a late goal.
"Evouna is not suffering from any muscular problem. He was just exhausted because he has been out of action for some time," Ahly's team doctor Khaled Mahmoud said.
The 23-year-old took his tally to six league goals this season as he begins to win over Ahly's demanding supporters.
The Red Devils, who are seeking to wrestle the title back from Zamalek, are on top of the table with 38 points, seven clear of their bitter rivals after 16 matches.
