Proverb of the day: They said, "The camel climbed the palm tree," they said; "Here is the camel and here is the palm tree," the others answered قالو الجمل طلع النخلة قالوا أدي الجمل و أدي النخلة
They said, "The camel climbed the palm tree," they said; "Here is the camel and here is the palm tree," the others answered قالو الجمل طلع النخلة قالوا أدي الجمل و أدي النخلة Alu:“el gamal tele' el nakhla,” “alu: adi el gamalwadi el gammal” Translation: They said, “The camel climbed the palm tree," they said; “Here is the camel and here is the palm tree,” the others answered. Meaning: This is one of a genre of sayings that reverberate with the “proof is in the pudding” axiom. One group of people make a curious claim and the audience demand to see verification of the claim. The imagery of camels and palm trees became archaic in most urban settings, and so is the proverb.
