Proverb of the day: They said, "the fish is shooting fire." He said, "the water will extinguish it" قالو السمك بيطلع نار قال كانت الميه تطفيه They said, "the fish is shooting fire." He said, "the water will extinguish it"
قالو السمك بيطلع نار قال كانت الميه تطفيه Alo el samak beyetalla nar, al kanet el mayya tetaffih Translation: They said, “the fish is shooting fire.” He said, “the water will extinguish it.” Meaning: This puzzling and outdated proverb is one of many classical adages that start with 'they said' followed by 'he said.' In this case, a reasonable person is not fooled by those who claim that a fish under water is shooting flames because he knows the water would extinguish it. The lesson is to always use common sense and not rely on what others tell you.
