Defender Amro Tarek is on the verge of becoming the second Egyptian to play in the Spanish La Liga after arriving in Sevilla to complete a move to Real Betis, who were recently promoted to the first division. The 23-year-old will leave Egyptian Premier League club Gouna, whom he joined in January 2013 after stints with the second teams of Germany's Freiburg and Wolfsburg. Tarek, who was born in the United States, said Gouna had accepted a €300,000 offer from Real Betis to acquire his services. He will become only the second Egyptian to feature in the elite competition after former striker Mido played for Celta Vigo in a brief loan spell in 2003, helping them reach the UEFA Champions League.
