الجعان يحلم بسوق العيش El ga‘an yehlam be souq el eish Translation: The hungry dreams of the bread market. Meaning: People dream of the things they need most. The unemployed dream of jobs, while the homeless dream of an abode. This proverb is still in use, and is often used sarcastically, to tell someone that their obsession has gone too far.
