BREAKING: Video allegedly shows beheading of Copts at IS hands Islamic State in Libya had claimed kidnapping of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in January
A video released by the extremist Islamic State group on YouTube showed the beheading of more than a dozen men – purportedly Egyptian Coptic Christians – on a beach they said was in Libya's Tripoli. The video produced by the group's media wing, Alhayat Media Center, showed in a Hollywood-style film a group of masked men dressed in black clothing leading another group of men in orange jumpsuits on the beach. After a message vowing to fight "crusaders," hostages were slit with daggers. The video ended with a shot of sea water mixed with blood. The group had said in its online English magazine Dabeq in its December-January issue that it had taken captive a group of what it termed "Coptic crusaders." Twenty-one Egyptian Coptic workers, mostly from impoverished villages in Upper Egypt, were kidnapped between late December and early January in the Libyan city of Sirte. The Egyptian government is yet to confirm the death of the hostages. More details to follow http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/123128.aspx
