Fiorentina coach Montella describes Egypt's Salah as 'very good player'
Egypt's Mohamed Salah is on the verge of completing a move to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina
Published in Ahram Online on 30 - 01 - 2015

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella described Mohamed Salah as a "very good player" on Friday ahead of the Egyptian international winger's imminent move to the Italian side after he failed to establish himself at Chelsea.
Although there has been no official confirmation yet, English Premier League club Chelsea look set to seal a deal for Fiorentina's highly-rated Colombian forward Juan Cuadrado, with Salah going in the opposite direction on a loan contract.
"It was a sale that had to be done. The club has done the right thing because we are also getting a very good player," Montella said of the 22-year-old during a news conference on Friday.
"Naturally, we need to understand how long he [Salah] will need to adapt to our football as it's different from the English and Swiss leagues. From a defensive standpoint, Cuadrado guarantees us a lot more than Salah."
Should Salah complete the move, he will join up with Egypt teammate Ahmed Hegazy, a towering defender who has only made five appearances with the club since joining the club in 2012 due to injury and fitness problems.
Salah has only made eight appearances in all competitions this season, with Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho confining him to the bench.
He has played 18 matches with Chelsea since joining from Basel in January 2014, scoring twice and creating two goals.
