Nigeria's Yakubu to Leave Everton for championship stay
Nigeria striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu is eager to use his contract option with Leicester
Published in Ahram Online on 04 - 05 - 2011

AiyegbeniYakubu, who is currently on loan with English Championship side Leicester City, has revealed his desire to make a permanent switchto the Walkers Stadium.
"I think I've had enough at Everton and I have to look for somewhere to go, I would love to stay at Leicester," Yakubu was quoted as saying on Skysports.com.
The 28-year old Nigerian striker has come to the appreciation of Leicester City's coach Sven-Goran Eriksson after scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances since January.
Eriksson revealed earlier this week he would like to keep the Nigerian star in his squad next season, but he is waiting for the player's decision.
"I decided nothing over whether to sign Yakubu permanently in the summer," Eriksson said earlier this week, adding "the Nigerian might not want to prolong his stay after the Foxes missed out on a play-off spot."
Hereby, the former Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Everton striker insists that he is eager to stay on at Leicester rather than return to Everton.
"It feels like home and I feel like I've been here for three or four years —I'm enjoying it," Yakubu said.
"The team players and fans have been really nice to me and hopefully I will see them again." he added.
