Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour accuses members of the Ultras White Knights of an acid attack just before the unveiling of new coach Jaime Pacheco; the group denies his claim, saying members threw urine and feces at him Chairman Mortada Mansour was involved in a fresh altercation with Zamaleks' hardcore supporters after he was attacked by two men while preparing to unveil new coach Jaime Pacheco in a news conference on Sunday. The outspoken lawyer said the two men, who are members of the Ultras White Knights fan group, threw nitric acid at him in front of the club headquarters, where the conference took place. Mansour was not hurt and the assailants were immediately arrested by police. Later in the conference, however, he claimed that a female street vendor lost her sight after the acid hit her face. Ultras White Knights disputed Mansour's account on the group's official Facebook page, releasing an offensive statement to attack the 62-year-old. "You can do whatever you want. You can appear on television and contact all shows and newspapers to cry and say 'I was hit with nitric acid.' But you are unlucky because the incident is recorded," the ardent group of supporters said. "The video of the season will be released tonight to show what happened. The regime's dog was attacked with bags containing urine and feces." "You will not be able to confront us and you cannot get rid of us. Wait for tonight's video." Mansour, a lawyer and an outspoken public figure, has been involved in several bust-ups with the team's fans since being re-elected as Zamalek chairman in March for a third stint in charge of one of Egypt and Africa's most successful outfits. The Ultras White Knights initially blamed him for not doing enough to coax authorities into lifting an ongoing crowd ban in domestic competitions before the feud dramatically escalated, with Mansour branding them a "terrorist group" bent on stirring up chaos in the country. Ten Ultras White Knights members were arrested on charges of trying to assassinate Mansour in August, further igniting the enmity between them.
