Samuel Eto'o is reportedly in talks with Liverpool over a possible summer move as the Reds seek to replace Luis Suarez, according to various English reports. Eto'o, 33, has emerged as a surprise name on Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers's wish-list after a move for French striker Loic Remy fell through. With Uruguay star Suarez having signed for Barcelona, Rodgers is believed to be keen on adding another out-and-out striker – despite already having Daniel Sturridge, Fabio Borini and summer-signing Rickie Lambert in the team's frontline. Eto'o, who captained Cameroon at the World Cup this summer, is also understood to be eager to stay in the Premier League, and a move to Chelsea rivals Liverpool would appeal to him to prove a point to the Blues' boss Jose Mourinho. The ex-Barcelona frontman, who spent last season at Stamford Bridge, had fallen out with Mourinho after the Portuguese manager made what appeared to be sarcastic remarks about the Cameroonian's age. Eto'o, currently unattached, has also been a target for West Ham and Queen Park Rangers but a potential move to Upton Park broke down after they refused to pay him more than £40,000 per week. That would not pose a problem for Liverpool though, as the Reds are also keeping tabs on Ivory Coast hitman Wilfried Bony to beef up their frontline. Eto'o had a fine season at Chelsea last year, having notched 12 goals – including nine in the league - for the Londoners.
