PHOTO GALLERY: Children's World photo exhibit at El Sawy Culturewheel Organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo, the "Children's World" exhibition runs at El Sawy Culturewheel until 9 June
An exhibition titled Children's World opened on 1 June – International Children's Day – at El Sawy Culturewheel's Word Hall to run until 9 June. An initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo, in cooperation with El Sawy Culturewheel and supported by the Polish-Egyptian Businessmen Association, the exhibition shows photographs submitted to a competition covering two themes: Poland in My Memories and Child and its World. The works of numerous photographers from four countries are on display, including Anna Blazejewska, Witold Mackow and Anna Krukowska from Poland, Laurine Pierre from France, Tinne von Loon from Belgium and Ayman Gamal from Egypt. The exhibition is one of the many testimonies to the links between Poland and Egypt, of which many are translated through the cultural activities. To mention only the most recent appearances of the Polish artists, one should point to the third annual Metal Blast music festival which took place at El Sawy Culturewheel last March and which featured Banisher, a Polish technical death metal band currently based in Krakow. In February 2013, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo invited a Polish trio to perform "Lutosławski Retuned" at the Cairo Opera's small hall, a concert commemorating the birth centenary of Polish composer and conductor Witold Lutosławski with jazz arrangements of the composer's works. Programme: 1-9 June; Word Hall, El Sawy Culturewheel, 26th of July St, Zamalek, Cairo ## ## ## ## ## ## http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/102986.aspx
